Als Shelly (Anna Faris), een Playboy bunny, plotseling ontslag krijgt weet ze niet waar ze naar toe moet. Ze komt terecht op een universiteitscampus die beheerst wordt door een grote, belangrijke studentenvereniging vol arrogante meiden en hun moeders. Shelly krijgt het idee om ook huismoeder te worden, en wel van de Zeta- vereniging, bestaande uit nerds en outcasts die op het punt staan hun huis te verliezen.
